7. Maintenance and cleaning

7.1 Maintenance

The thermometers described here are maintenance-free.

Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.

7.2 Cleaning

CAUTION!

■

Prior to cleaning the electrical connections, disconnect them properly.

■

Clean the instrument with a moist cloth.

■

Electrical connections must not come into contact with moisture.

■

Wash or clean the dismounted instrument before returning it, in order to

protect persons and the environment from exposure to residual media.

■

Residual media in the dismounted instrument can result in a risk to persons,

the environment and equipment. Take sucient precautionary measures.

For information on returning the instrument see chapter 9.2 “Return”.

7.3 Calibration, Recalibration

It is recommended that the measuring insert is recalibrated at regular intervals (resistance

thermometers: approx. 24 months, thermocouples: approx. 12 months). This period can be

reduced, depending on the particular application. The calibration can be carried out by the

manufacturer, as well as on site by qualied technical sta with calibration instruments.
